7990 Devil 13. No talk.

This card has been out for a while now but nobody talks about it. The people here only talk about the new expensive Titan or the 690.

7990 Devil 13 is by Powercolor. It's 2 7970s just like the 690 is 2 680.

It's only 5% slower than 690 and runs a bit hotter. I think that benchmark was before the good AMD drivers came out. So maybe it's better than a 690 now.

The 7990 isn't as well balanced a card as the 690. Crossfire scaling isn't as reliable and the card uses a lot more power. Maybe the rumored Malta card will fix that?

That card was ugly really, they needed an stylish layout.
And AMD needs to focus seriously on crossfire and latency problems, if they do that they will gain a lot of customers.

I own the hd7990 not the diablo. I had a diablo but it was defective. powercolor makes both.

basically 2 7970's are better for most people. The diablo is no different.

Also the card are not fully unlocked, tricky to setup.

My card works great for btc mining. I run one of the gpu chips 24/7 the second chip I run at mining when I sleep. When I use the pc I use the second gpu chip to watch tv, blu rays, stream hd and game a little.


advantages 3 slots vs 4 for 2 x 7970's

3 power wires vs 4 power wires.

I have earned around 350 with it mining.

so with taxes it cost me 960- 350 = 610.

yeah I have to pay NJ tax of 63 bucks. but with the free games and no tax it is 899 sell the games it is 850. it should earn 1 bit coin in about 10 days at current rates that would be around 42 bucks. this is going to change soon.

Cards like that are really meant for water cooling. It is just too much heat and power consumption to really push those cards much beyond stock. Also the cooler is a triple slot monster.

you would be correct water cooling would be better maybe down the road.



to the op I run it more with bitcoin underclocked then any other use.

I have to check if i am using 13.1 or 12.10 or 13.2.

I have 7 pc's running 24/7 for the bitcoin.

which is paying off nicely.

I did some batman and a few other games with it, but it is more for the bitcoin then any other use.

my last three bills were 475, 515 ,440.

dec jan feb bills. but my heating was about 350 lower for that time period. so take 117 off each bill.

I earned. 31 in dec 38 in jan and 26 in feb 7 for march
