Discuss.

Edit: Oh damn.. they changed the price! That was such an affordable and reasonable offering from the most customer-centric IHV and the most benevolent e-tailer. Sigh.. but we'll remember their generous gesture! :D

Only 100K USD

When you click on any card, you get "We apologize for the inconvenience, but the item you are looking for has been deactivated. Here are some similar products that you may wish to consider: (Search Results from Manufacturer)"

What's up with that?

So what happened to the Anandtech article on this card? It was on the front page but the link was dead, now it is totally removed?

I can't wait for the Anandtech review of the 7950 to come back up.

I'm debating between one of these or a 7900GTX for a new mATX build. Leaning heavily toward a 7900GTX right now ... but the 7950GX2 has certainly gotten my interest.

There are mATX SLI options. Shuttle has a SLI SFF and eVGA has a SLI mATX Motherboard.

For those curious as to my choice of the 7900GTX ... I'm not going to go back to ATI just yet, too much heat and power draw for my microATX or SFF systems and I've been happy with Nvidia since the 6800. I'm not going with a 7900GT as I'd prefer 512MB per GPU and prefer the GTX cooling solution and feel the cooling solution + more memory + faster speed are nearly worh the price differance.

A new king is in town and uses less power under load than a X1900XTX, lol.

This is pretty good, I mean they have a single card that will be 599-649, whips the current crop of high end cards, and draws less power than their competitors high end device under load while delivering much more performance.

That is what I am thinking. The G80 must be a late 06 or early 07 part now. I cant imagine them releasing this in June and then releasing a G80 in the next 3-4 months.

Finally it's out, I just openned the homepage for anandtech and saw the new article, very nice benchmarks, but only at very high resolutions, finally we have a card that can support F.E.A.R. at max res. at a playable frame rate.

Finally from the Techreport article we get an answer to whether the card has 1GB of USEABLE vram...and the answer is NO...it's still 512mb...I kept getting different answers from different people about this question. Someone even said it would be 2GB of vram when run in quad sli.

Gotta give credit though, this is a nice card...but I don't have money to buy it.

I'm reading the article now, this card looks like the new champ among video cards and the price isn't absolutly ridiculus, I thought it'd be at least $1000 and for the super rich, I might consider getting one, but the max res. my monitor can do is 1600 by 1200.

Would it be a bad idea buying this card with a monitor that can only support 1600 by 1200.
