UPDATE...

So, I noticed that I had pretty excessive tearing in WoW with the new card, and I didn't really recall having that before with the other GX2. After messing around with the settings a bit, I figured out that triple buffing had to be disabled for v-sync to properly work. The best way was to disable triple buffing in both the driver and WoW, and set the driver to let the application control v-sync. Well, everythat was cool... 16X/16X, tear-free, glorious (if you've seen it, you know what I mean) WoW... Then, exit to desktop... crash and burn... I get about a minute of really sluggish unresponsive mouse action, and then the desktop freezes, forcing me to do a hard reset. I messed with the settings some more, swapped drivers, driver cleaner etc... Nothing... No matter how I set the drivers/game settings, I either get operable v-sync in WoW or I get unstable exit to desktop, but I can't get v-sync and stability. Maybe it's something specific to my system and the 9x.xx driver, but I'm curious if anyone else can reproduce this error with their GX2. As it stands right now, this GX2 is going back as well. IMO, this is unacceptable or a piece of hardware this expensive and a game this popular. If it was some obscure (or even new) game, I might be more forgiving...

Nitro, sorry this is a little late, but it sounds like sort of an interrupt problem. I would have told you to shut down, disconnect mouse, restart without mouse, shut down again, connect mouse, start er up. This may assign the mouse a slightly different interrupt.

Will it work? Who knows, but worth a shot. Too bad you returned it already.

Thanks for both of your replies.

Keys: I still have the card, and what you are saying makes sense. I gave it a try, but she still died on my upon exit.

Gstanfor: Interesting ideas, but playing around with affinity to get my NV card working properly appeals to me about as much as renaming executables to get CrossFire working properly.

Again, I appreciate the responses, but IMO either my board isn't "100%" compatible with the GX2 or the drivers for the GX2 aren't quite there yet. Obvioulsy, this isn't a one off with a specific card, since it is easily reproducable with mutiple cards and both have exhibited identical behavior.

Honestly, I'm a bit bummed with my experiences with the GX2. I initially had not wanted to buy another G7x card, as I had already had most of them, but there is something about this wacky little dual PCB/gpu card that I am drawn to. If you've seen one in person, you would most likely agree that it is a sight to behold, and an interesting feat of engineering. Those of you that remeber Rollo for things other then his excessive trolling, might recall him talking about a "coolness factor" of certain cards, and IMO, the GX2 is about at the top of the list for that. Too bad, I can't make it work for me.

/sigh, maybe I'm not cool enough for the card : )

Make sure the nVidia profile for WoW completly disables multi-GPU support.

WoW does not support multi-GPU in any way and has numerous issues if you try it.
