Got around $1,900 for a new system. I thought that maybe I'd be able to put together a G80 rig by October. However, with NVIDIA's Q2 conference call devoid of any G80 talk, I'm no longer optimistic.

So should I buy a 7950GX2 in October/November (waiting to see nForce 500 and RD600 Conroe boards) or wait for those uber DX10 cards?

Im with Akshayt on this one... Do yourself a favour and dont get the GX2.. Yeah its fast but it lacks features and IQ, and benchmarks show it using quality and not high quality, and you will use high quality to get rid of shimmering so you can easily take off 15% of its performance in every bench, thats why I wouldnt get one... plus its 100-150$ more obviously
