7950GT KO Superclock SLI Or 8800GTS?

I have two Evga 7950 GT KO Superclocks that I put up for sale, and someone sent me a PM that he has a Evga 8800GTS Part Number: 640-P2-N821-AR, brand new, and would like to trade me.

Would running this one 8800GTS work better in gaming compared to my two 7950 cards in SLI?

For $400 you would be better off buy a HD 2900XT which beats up 8800GTS and has loads of features. GPU Should be out in few days.

Since DirectX 10 is a joke to try and force people to 'upgrade' from XP to Vista and no DirectX 10 games and lousy drivers keep your 2 7950GTs. Together they beat the snot out of the 8800GTS.

how is directx 10 a joke? have you seen the crysis in game vids?

sure it is not really viable yet, but when you are investing in an expensive piece of hardware for gaming, it would be wise to keep this in consideration. this isnt a year or two away, this is months.

otherwise, keeping the dx9 cards could turn into a regrettable decision in a few months when games like crysis are out and driver issues have been resolved. and if they havent been, you still have a sick card that rip sup dx9 games.

DX10 isn't a joke, it's just so typical of cards to come out before the support is really ready, but it will be, but when, that's the question...

The HD 2900XT is ATI's next-gen DX10 card that will fufill the same price point as the GTS ($400~) and from what we've seen it is closer to the GTX in performance than the GTS.

Based on DX9 performance alone, that's probably not a very good upgrade. The 8800GTX is faster than 7900GTX SLI (but not by much) but the 7950GT (especially overclocked) is not much slower than the 7900GTX and the 8800GTS is much slower than the 8800GTX.

GTS is $375 these days, $350 with MIR, so if the XT is MSRP $400, it'll probably not last long at that price before e-tailers start offering MIRs.

Considering the XT is significantly faster than the GTS they're going to have no problems selling it at $400 and I can't see them dropping the price much lower. Hopefully they will, becuase I want one, but I doubt it.
