7950 GX2, X1900XT or X1950XTX?

Looking to buy a video card this week and not sure what to get

Wrong.

The 7950GX2 is faster in all games that rage3d tested. This was using HQ.

Cheapest GX2 goes for 500~.
So its up to you really.

Go for the 7950GX2.

It is a *little* bit overkill if you aren't playing the latest games, but at that resolution you will be able to max out all the settings on every game.

I use one with a couple 2005FPWs, but I don't game on both.

Are you rich? Go for the 7950GX2 or X1950XTX. If you want a fast card (almost as fast as the other two) but would like to save some money, the X1900XT is not that much slower than either card and is a lot cheaper.

7950GX2 will be the fastest in most situations.

Some games will let the ATIs run AA and HDR and the 7950 can only do one or the other but it varies on what games will and what games won't. It depends on the way the game does HDR that dictates if the 7950 and the ATI run HDR and AA.

Either way at that res you will be happy with the 7950 and the 1950.

sorry, i was tired at the moment when i posted that. thought i read 7900gtx vs x1950xtx

Exactly. :thumbsup: I was facing this decision myself, and I thought; "Why should I pay almost double for an extra 10fps, more shimmering, and no HDR+AA support?"
