Uh-oh, I booted at 160fsb, but got windows errors, and somehow my temporary files got deleted.

System didn't hang though. That's just her telling me she wants more vcore. 😀

Once I get my new RAM, I'll do the jumper mod and put it at 1.75 or 1.775 vcore and see how everything works.
I have a feeling I can hit 160fsb without a problem, with the extra vcore. I was only trying it at 1.7vcore.

Next, in the news, I may be getting a P4S533, due to my latest acquisition... A job! :Q

I've been in the 10k club since 153 fsb. 😛
I just had to back down to 150 fsb because I accidentally broke 3 blades off my AVC Sunflower though. 🙁

I'm ordering the swiftech heatsink with a sunon 80mm (50cfm) fan and my second steatlh.
After that comes my Samsung RAM, being followed by a new Antec case and psu, then finally if I have money leftover, a P4S533. 😀

Be afraid...

Great Thugs just wanted to know , I'm at 2610mhz now and new samsung original pc2700 should be here soon , 🙂 once I burn it in I will attempt to go to 2700 mhz slow and easy and wanted to know if Windows was going to hinder me .

I read a review in I think it was overclocker forum , he was reveiwing the alpha 8942 and he said when he took the system to 2.61 ghz quote "of course windows wouldn't boot up " now I'm at 2.61ghz and windows is fine but I didn't know if it would be a problem going higher based on what the reviewer said , so I thought I would ask you as your one of the few who is above 2.61ghz.

generally heres is how "stabilty" pans out.

1) bios can post - yea!
2) it loaded windows - kewl 🙂
3) it ran 3dmark2001se - sweet!
4) it ran prime95 for 9.2 hours! - its stable! 😉

im pretty sure that what he means. windows is a piece of cake compared to 3dmark2001 or prime95.

I'll be building a 1.6A (Costa Rica, 03/27/02 I think) this weekend for a friend on a P4B266-C so I'll report back on what we get out of this puppy! 😀

hehehe 😀

If his does more than 2561Mhz perfectly stable, then, yeah!! 😀 😀 😀

I wonder why I can't go higher... grr... I got a "dud" 😛 😛 Maybe it just needs to "burn-in" ...? 😉

Yes I have run 3dmarkse at 2.61ghz several times and prime for 4 hours no problem, but his article still made me wonder , anyways thanks.🙂

Hey thugs old pal! Can you play Quake3 for an hour without a crash at that speed? That's the ultimate test IMHO. Q3 is the ONLY app that ever gives me issues during an OC.

well actually i havent played much Q3 lately. Ive been plaing Serious Sam 1 & 2. from a stability standpoint, Q3 is easier on a system compared to Serious Sam. but for your sake, ill go play some Q3 for exactly an hour 😉

IBBL 🙂

i agree w/ thugs
there are games that are much more taxing on a system, than quake.
motocross madness 2 is a perfect example..
i could play quake for hours on a "borderline stable" system.
but start motocross madness 2, and you crash in just minutes!
i must check out this serious sam game that many people have mentioned.

500 fps...haha...
man...anyone play counterstrike here? I am getting random crashes to desktop...really bothering me...

Thugs is correct. SS will crash a system sooner than any other game I have played. If you can play SS for a few hrs, you are in pretty good shape. UT is also a good test. Q3 is pretty forgiving. RTCW is also crash prone on a system that is unstable.

ok my new toy!
i ordered a P4B533 today and my friend gonna hook me up with a P4 2.4B so i am gonna check this combo out wooooot!
i have a good feeling about this and i might sell my 1.6@2700 combo!
hmmmmm 🙂

Hi! Yesterday I got a BD7-R and a 1.6A from Malay with a 5/5 pack date. This was the newest I have heard of so I was obviously very excited. To make a long story short, I am running at 2816MHz with 1.7V and the stock cooler as I type. This speed seems stable, but whenever the temps hit in the mid 60's it freezes. I will order an Alpha PAL8492 later, but this chip seems to have extreme potential. I may try to get some screenshots up of the sandra scores when I have the time.
