Wow those scores are impressive guys. I'm recieving my EVGA 7900gt ko tomorrow and hopely have some time to test it after I start ocing :). Makes me happy I made the right decision. Also, is aftermarket cooling solutions strongly suggested for these/my card? My old Sapphire in sig, needed a aftermarket solution.

If you plan to do OCing (like vmodding) or just don't like loud coolers than yes, aftermarket cooling is needed. On a 7900 that runs pretty cool, any aftermarket cooler will do. Vf-700, vf-900, NV Silencer (ehaust air out back), pretty much anything is a go and should work well. Also, finding something to cool the ram is also a good idea. It depends on the cooler though. The NV Silencers cover the ram already, while the Zalman's come with little BGA Ram Sinks to do the job.

My OC'd XTX beats that volt modded 7900 GT 3dmark05 score by ~2000 points. I haven't tested the 3dmark06 results yet. ;)

ST,

I'd really like to see a link to 3DMark06 compare at this miracle 15K score!!!!

I know everyone is prone to exagerate, but you need to at least make it sound sensible!

The current record 3DMark06 score is held by a known benchmark nut (Kingpin) at 13,358 and he was using an AM2 socket FX62 at 3.676Ghz with DDR2 1000Mhz memory, 2 x 7900GTX cards pushed to their max on phase change cooling.

So please share your Intel secret and post a link to futuremark compare?

compgeek,

Vey impressive!

12,795 from GT's not even GTX's!

You must need a full size movie screen to stress them out fully!

would you also add for how long you have your OC card worked without any issues / artifacting?
More then a month or two at that clocks?
Or you just OC card to run 3dMark and then clock it back? not likely , but ...

tnx

1. 3dmark05: 9227 points

2. 3dmark06 (my display is a WXGA so it can't run it at 1280x1024):
a. 5802 at 1280x800

b. 5347 at 1440x900 which is very close to 1280x1024

OMG! that 06 score surpasses my 7800GT SLI setup! (450/1050) and its a laptop!

Haha yeah these 7900 Go GS video cards are overclocking beasts! Mine tops out at 650 for the core but I haven't maxed out the memory yet so I'm sure I could squeeze out an even higher score if I wanted. I got REALLY lucky today and scored a Dell M1710 laptop with a full 7900 GTX (24pp/8vs) for $2100 shipped! I already got an RMA authorized to send the E1705 back. Whoever gets my system from Dell refurb will be one lucky SOB because I've replaced the original crappy heatsink that came with the 7900 GS with a dual pipe heatsink that cools it around 5-10 C better.
