Do you guys think a 7900GTX for $140 is a good deal?

i really only plan on using it for the Half life 2 games bf2 and C&C3

my current card is the 6800GS

For $140 yes, the 7900GTX is a pretty good deal. It's much, much faster than your 6800GS and will definately be great in those games.
 
If you're getting it on eBay or something make sure it is guaranteed. I had one that I bought cheap about 3 months ago and it artifaced badly whenever AA was turned on or the fan wasn't manually set to full. I resold it on eBay "as is" for a profit and the buyer didn't have any of the same problems so maybe it was just a compatibility issue, but artifacing on some 7900GTX is well-documented
