7900gt overclocks

I want to make kind of a chart with the 7900gt owners and how high they got the core too. I want to do this with some other cards as well as I think it would be a quick way for people to see how a certain card is overclocking. Just pick the one that is closest to your speed.

i got the core up to 700 max but i ran it at 650mhz daily. the mem went all the way up to 1950mhz 24/7 stable. Ran the core at 1.4volts and mem at 2.2 with a vf-700cu and OCZ all copper RAMsinks. idle was around 45C and load was around 58C. eVGA 7900GT with stock clocks of 450/1320. quite a nice OC if i do say so myself 😉

*EDIT* so in conlcusion i ran it daily at 650/1950. the mem went up to 2025mhz max BTW.

Wow that is quite a bit higher overclock on the mem than I thought people would get. That is why I stoped at 1800 in the poll maybe I should edit that. Still nice results. Is it on water or air? and if it is on air what cooler?

vf700cu hehe. its in my post 😉 if you don't know its a Zalman air cooler you can get for like 15 bucks now. Not enough cooling for 7900gtx or x18/1900 but perfect for the 7900gt and its low heat/power output. the x1900xt in my sig is on water cuz i bought a water cooling kit when i upgraded to the x1900

My 7900GT with only the core volt mod at 1.5V got up to 691/901, I recently took it off because I was using stock cooling and it was freezing when I was playing Oblivion and BF2

700MHz Core
810MHz (1620MHz) Ram

1.49 vmod on core
stock volts on ram

Zalman vf700cu cooler

Idel tamp: 45C, under load in rthdribl: ~74C

Havent run into any problems and Ive been running it like this daily for a couple months. I think I can get the ram a little higher, but I havent tried yet.

I believe mine were 665/1836 completely stable, 1.4/2.12 or something. Raising the mem voltage didn't result in a higher stable clock rate so I keep it at 2.12.

I have two eVGA 7900GT SCs in SLI w/ an AN8 32X and VF-900s. They run at about 50C idle and 75-80C max load.

Thats a tad warm

BTW my 7900GT's in SLI are at 690/1650 (sometimes 1700) with 1.45v on core and stock volts on memory (memory vmod almost screwed up my card).

I should add that when I tried to vmod my cards ram I also almost screwed up my card, but wizboy helped me out. I took off the ram vmod and the card was fine.

wizboy: at what temp do your 7900gt's run?

I have watercooling so they get just above 40C under load.
My CPU has yet to break 39C under load.

So both my GPU's and CPU are ~40C under load.
Idle is about 37 for CPU and about the same for GPU.

I found that the 7900GT should be fine as long as you don't dip into the high 80s or low 90s. My 7900GT started freezing when it hit 95C
