I recently got a 22" monitor to replace a 19". So going from 1280x1024 to 1680x1050.
Current vid card is an EVGA 7900GT KO (506 core, 760 memory)
Problem is at the moment don't have any games installed
I sold them all and was playing some older games until I got something new.
With the Newegg $20 off $100 expiring tonight, I figured I'd put it towards another card, since the 7900GT seemed to reach it's limit at 1280x1024 with everything maxed.
Was this just a lateral move? Or will there be some performance gains to keep me going at 1680x1050?
CPU is an Athlon 64 @ 2.7Ghz and 2GB of ram.
New card was $155 shipped, so shouldn't cost me too much out of pocket after selling the 7900GT, if it proves to be faster. Just curious what I can expect.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I don't care anything about upgrading to Vista, so DX10 was of no use to me.
