7900GT eVga

I bought a 7800GT n517 from newegg pretty recently. I am thinking of upgrading to the 7900GT using the step up program.

First, I haven't registered my card or anything, can I still use the program?

Second, how much would it cost me?

Basically, could someone walk me through how to take advantage of the step up program?

Thanks

Read this first

Then, when did you buy the card and you better register it soon (before you step up)

It would cost the cost of shipping and the cost of the difference of the cards (if any).

Only ONE person said it was wrong clock speeds. He probably bought the wrong version or something and if he didnt its probably an isolated case as I havent SEEN ANY posts on hardware forums including this one. And if you plan on stepping up bro, be prepared to wait months! Not one person has got a step up yet and there is a long line of people waiting!

hell, its 14 bucks for me, I dont care if it takes years.

2 Reviewers said they had thay problem.

My next question is, just how much better is the Superclocked than the CO that I have selected?

Never said you shouldnt wait, just said you are gonna have to wait jeez. If it takes years lol that would be a frickin waste. These cards will be shyt in "years" compared to games that will be out in years and the new tech. Direct X 11 may be out by then hehe 😀
I dunno, I bought a lesser version of an XFX card because the XXX edition was sold out and Ive already OCed as high as the card that was $40 more. If its only 14 bucks to go to superclocked version, id go for it! And yeah I havent read EVGA reviews because I buy xfx. Double lifetime warranty rocks and it came in handy the other day when I sold my 7800gt and the buyer will be warrantied for lifetime as well!

Sorry, didn't realize how mean my post sounded.

It is $50 more to go to the Superclocked, and I can overclock it myself, so I am just going to get the regular CO edition for 14dollars.

My step-up is on the way. 🙂

Just get the regular CO version for $14 and overclock it yourself.

Get some good third party cooler though as I don't really trust that little thing of a heatsink on it. With a new heatsink, you should get some nice overclocks.

Apply for the step up asap. You'll more than likely have to wait a week or two before they send you an e-mail to send in your card, but luckly evga lets you keep your card till they get theirs in and ready.

sweet, you must be in the first batch right? After that post I had read elsewhere that they were saying alot of ppl will be stepped up next week. Just figured he'd be at the very end of the line and he may have to wait few weeks to a month(s).
