7900/50gt owners!!

I'm looking for the lowest psu wattage used for a single core cpu system and 7950gt or 7900gt with one hard drive. If you know tell me you 12v rail amps also. Thanks in advance.

I'm using a 7900GTO 512MB with a 550W psu from Allied. el cheapo from my old system that i carried to my new core2duo 6400 setup.
I'm having motherboard / ram issues at the moment, bu it's early to blame the psu for that. still investigating.

My 7900GS (not far off a 7900GT as it's same frequencies) is running on my 380watt PSU, with two 12v rails at 16amps each.

Dual cores actually run with less wattage required than older Netburst cpu's.

But that power supply should run that card with no problem unless you have a bunch of excess drives and/or fans.

What is the voltage on your CPU overclock? While 26A is nothing to scoff at, the CPU is sapping from the 12v rail as well, not to mention the fans, optical drives, etc.
I would probably still try it myself, I would imagine the overclock would become unstable, a sure sign the voltage regulators on the mobo are not getting enough juice.

I'm using a 600w OCZ GameExtreme PS with 4 18 amp rails (72 amps total) and 2 BFG GeForce 7950GTs oc'ed to 630/1600. Works great!🙂

I ran a 450w Antec TruePower 2.0 for a year, then recently switched to a 520w Corsair because I'm about to upgrade other parts.
7900GT KO.

I ran a 7900GTO @ GTX speeds in a Dell Dimension 8400 (350W power supply) with a P4 650.

Had no problems whatsoever.

Viper GTS

I'm using a 7900GS KO (@ 592/1560) with a Thermaltake Pure Power TR2 500W. Dual rails, 14A & 15A.
