I just used the $25 off. (Forgot about ebates). But, try this.- Go through ebates to office max and sign in. Then, buy the chair and whatever else to make sure your total is over a $100. Now, bring another window up and go through techbargains site through that window and put the chair in your basket. Then, x out the techbargains window and jump back a few pages from the shopping basket window in the the other browser window (ebates) until your back enough that their item counter/accumulator will re-calculate any of the recent activity regardless of which window was up and hopefully the coupon will show up. If it does, take one of the chairs out of your basket and your set. You can play around with the above directions if it doesn't work. I've done this and it has worked before so just play around a bit and you should get it to work. Good luck

This looks like a good buy, especially after the coupon. But I think the chair Circuit City has for the same price (but no coupon) is better. Go to their web site and search on "chair". Then check out model "Office Star EX11203". Shipping is not free, but you can go and buy it or pick it up in the store.

First I like the head rest. Then the Circuit City chair is made in Taiwan, while I suspect the Office Max one is made in China. I can't be sure about that, but a few months ago I bought a chair from Best Buy, which looked the same as the Circuit City chair, but with arm rests identical to the Office Max chair posted here. Also on sale for $80. That one was made in China. After a few weeks the leather on the seat started to wear out and eventually was torn apart. The Circuit City chair still looks like new after a few weeks. Besides, it also has a metal L connection between the seat and the back, while the Best Buy chair was relying only on the arm rests to support the back.

Madcowz: No, it's black like all others, it was probably shinning in the flash light when they took the picture.

woohoo! Ordered on Friday the 27th and arrived today the 1st. The leather chair is very nice. The "elevator" works really well, and the tilt has a "lock/free" switch. It said BACKORDER for the chair when I ordered it, but both my products (I ordered inkjet cartridge to push over $100 to use the coupon) arrived at the same time.

nice leather. sturdy chair. my back and my a$$ appreciate it.

after reading the thread, and considering the nearest OfficeMax is more than 45 minutes away, i decided not to buy this chair from OM. i went to Staples website, and found a nice leather chair for $99.99. drove over to the Staples store, and tried the chair myself after taking measurements, and absolutely loved it. high quality genuine Italian leather, and the armrests are padded with leather too. otherwise, similar size and features as this OM chair. anyways, i bought a bag of rubber band for 26 cents, to push over $100, and applied the $30 off coupon. (done on the website)

received both items in 1 day, delivered to my door. the funny thing is, the delivery guy showed up in front of my door at 11 am with the chair. couple of hours later, the UPS man shows up in front of my door with a medium sized package. i open the package, and to my amusement i find a VERY well packaged bag of 26 cent rubber band. granted the chair already came in a box, but couldn't the Staples courier carry the rubber band with him in his pocket or something? both items came from same region (LA area) but shipped separately. i just found it very funny. at least Staples has good shipping.

This is a pretty decent chair...but the arms aren't padded and you can't adjust the back of the chair ... moving it forward or back...
otherwise....it's great...

Frglss - Here's a direct link to the $79.99 Executive High-Back Leather Chair without a session ID, can you edit your post to include this URL? Thanks.

Homerboy - This chair is still only $79.99, perhaps you were looking at a different item number? It should be 01223982

This appears to be the $69.99 black leather chair with padded armrests that huey1124 mentioned, it's worth looking into. [after $30 coupon]

Both offer free shipping, visit your local OfficeMax and Staples before buying either chair to see what they are like before you receive the big box, have to assemble it, only to later realize that it doesn't fit or you don't like it.

Chairs are a problem for me. I'm 6ft and 235lbs, not fat, but a big guy. And I spend as much as 12-16hrs a day, at least 6 days a week, sitting in it. I go thru chairs like Sherman went thru Georgia. If anyone has any suggestions for a SOLID decent quality chair that won't require a small mortgage, I'd appreciate it.

I just got that Staples chair 2 weeks ago with the $30 coupon. So far so good; the padded arms are real nice. It seems the seat area is a little light on padding, but I'm 230. After a while, it's like there's no cushion there (which I didn't notice when I tried it out in the store). Other ones I was considering include a nice one at Costco from Samsonite that I think was $139 after big rebate, very sturdily built. One at BestBuy for $80 that I actually sank deeply into was quite comfortable, I may have to revisit that one, but these padded arms will be hard to give up. Definately give anything under consideration a good test drive!

Hey.

I went to look at this chair at the local Office Max, but they didn't seem to have it in stock (or they were too lazy to find it for me).

Anyways, is this a "big persons" chair, or is it made for shorties?

I'm 6'3" and have a really hard time finding comfortable computing chairs. The back's are either too low, or the head rest is out of place and feels uncomfortable, or the arms are too low or something :)

Can any other tall guy's vouch for this chair?

Thanks!

I'm 6'2" and I had that chair at my last job- plenty comfy, but the material does wear at the seams after about a year of harsh use...

We really need to find a good quality heavy duty chair out there. To me, paying $250 for a chair that's gonna last me a few years, is a hot deal as compared to paying $100 or so for a new one every 6 or 8 months. These things just don't stand up to 12-16hrs a day, 6 or 7 days a week.

I bet if you add some active cooling that chair would overclock very well :D I'd love to get a chair like this but I have cats. Do you think they would puncture the leather? Or are there other chairs better suited for us cat people?

TheBigZ:

when i was at Staples trying out different chairs, i found the chair (item #464529) to be very comfortable. extra paddings, higher back, and seemed plenty sturdy enough. of course i was there to try out the $99 chair, and i did not have the need to buy this $192 chair. but with the coupon, it might be worth something looking into, in your case. but as RossMAN has said numerous times, try out the chair to make sure that you're satisfied with it.
