7850 vs current nvidia offerings

I do expect the GK106 will come in at better power consumption than the 7850 though, and that could make the comparison more interesting.

Unlikely, 78xx are very efficient compared to 79xx.

It won't be gtx680 vs 7970 again with the latter using over 100W extra OC vs OC. We already know 78xx once OC only uses 20-30W extra, it's heaps more efficient.

Man, this just reminds me how much of a pig my 7970 is. Glad my card isn't a roaster, and overall even with a mild OC it sits under my HD 5870 in all metrics that I care about.
