7800GTX temperatures

Hi all,

Just wondering what temperatures fellow 7800GTX users are seeing? I'm fairly worried as my Asus EN7800GTX idles at 43ºC and hits 75ºC while playing Xpand Rally (bundled game) at full settings, still using stock cooling.

Thanks in advance.

I'm hoping those kinda temperatures are normal. I was fairly pissed off when I upgrade the graphic card and found that my ThermalTake GPU waterblock won't secure properly, had to chuck the stock HSF back on. Now looking for another GPU waterblock that will fit, and also fit my ThermalTake BigWater watercooling kit as well, but I don't think so as the BigWater kit uses pretty small tubes compared to other kits.

I have the BFG overclocked 7800GTX. With RT at 18.6C, it idles at 38C and with BF2 at 1280x1024 all high no aa, it runs at 47C. I may have the probe in a bad position though. Where do you probe yours?

Just use the NV utility to check the temperature, more reliable than anything.

My EVGA 7800GTX idles around 50C and RTHDRIBL brings it up to about 75C. That is with a 80mm mounted on the side of the case blowing directly on to the Vid card. Without it I was seeing RTHDRIBL temps hit 83ish.

I live in miami so room temp is between 75 and 80F

My results are kinda biased because it's summer, I don't have AC and my room gets the hottest out of any other room. I idle anywhere between 55-60C and hit 75C under full load.

I'm using the NV utility. Previously on my 9600XT, I had a probe mounted on the side of the waterblock and it typically showed temperatures 10-15ºC less than actual temperatures turned up using the bundled utility. I think in order to get a more accurate reading, you need to mount the probe as close as possible to the contact point between the GPU and heatsink.

It's a bitch that there isn't any GPU waterblocks on the market yet that has a mounting kit for the 7800GTX.

I idle at 65C (quite high but it's in a SFF), and load around 72C

Anyway to keep a log of the temps over a certain time period?

Actually I think the Maze4 mounts up perfectly using the 6800 series mounting location. I've seen numerous posts of owners who've stated it worked. I'll be giving that a go this weekend. I'll let you know what I find out.

I just had another look around and the DangerDen Maze4 does fit, so does the Swiftech MCW50 with an appropriate mounting kit. Unfortunately my bloody BigWater kit uses 1/4" fittings/tubing and won't fit either of those 2 as they both use 3/8"-1/2" fittings/tubing.

my XFX the one that comes factory clocked at 490/1.3 hits 82c under load. I swear you could fry some eggs. I can smell the thing once it gets going.
