This thing can handle any game out there, and it appears to need a powerful CPU, and at high resolutions we FINALLY have a savior, 2048x1536 or similar is now playable..

needless to say I am very, very impressed with this part.

Cool, quiet, SINGLE SLOT, draws LESS power than a 6800 Ultra and is as fast or faster than 6800Ultra SLI.

Yeah, and its available.. bye bye ATI.

I'm sorry, but NV40 was a blowout round for Nvidia and this is even more of a blowout.

I cant imagine the 32pipe card ready for R520 (if it ever even gets here).

Come up with all the excuses you want to hate on Nvidia and their new card, but this card is AMAZING and quiet to boot!
But all arguments are moot because SLI is available TODAY, and the 7800 is for sale TODAY and is the new King after the Geforce6.

I give the luck of the Irish to ATI.. they need it.

I say who cares if the card is going to cost as much as budget pc. Honestly, sure the benches do impress but the cost is ridiculous. I was actually about to order one last night and then realized the insanity of the whole thing.

I KNOW! Its a freakin blowout..

Yeah its expensive BUT ITS AVAILALBE TOO- FREAKIN DAY!!!!!!!!!!!1

That, is amazing.
This card is ready to match and beat anything out there today, and I PROMISE its going to be fine for the Unreal Engine 3.0. With that much horsepower, OBVIOUS CPU limitation at anything under 1600x1200.... yeah, its ready for simple engines like Doom3, Battlefield2 and Source. ;)

FLAWLESS VICTORY, Nvidia.
I salute that companys performance.

I admire your enthusiasm but I'm curious to know where you're getting your facts about performance in an unreleased game/engine.

I?d also wait until we know more about ATI?s card before you declare a ?FLAWLESS VICTORY?. It?s a bit early.

No facts, but it can be extrapolated fairly easily be looking at the massive power this thing holds.

You can hold me to it if you want too. Fine by me, I guarantee I'm correct in saying this will push UE3.0 with great performance.

I'm enthusiastic cuz this thing without doubt rocks.

If you can match or beat SLI performance with a single card, make it SINGLE SLOT and available today... with 24 pipes you have a first round knockout.

Apparently you missed the part where they are charging $600. Thats what they call a "deal-breaker". Personally, I'm getting great framerates with a $200 800XL. Besides, who has the attention span to play the same game longer then a few weeks anyway? You'l just end up shutting the game down and surfing ATOT like you always do. you know it!! ;)

um. i think that's most of his point. since this card is availible right now you can't say "hey just wait til ati comes out with something" because by that time nvidia could have something new and faster out.

well theres no point in sitting her arguing about NV30 like you ati guys love to do.. or how GF6 outsold the X700/X800/X850 cobbled up lineup.

This is pure domination from NV, available, quiet, cool, draws less power, single slot.. faster than SLI'd 6800Ultras. Fastest thing on the market..

yeah its expensive but piece together a Crossfire rig, you'll end up with a dandy ALI chipset and two SM2/DX9B cards that STILL gets beat by a single GF7 with SM3 support.

You always pay to play. The point is that its available today, price doenst matter to those of us who work. They can charge what they want, they are dictating the market now as ATI cant compete.

In your wild raving you are spitting out some wrong facts, baseless predictions, and most of all you sound like a child that just got a Tonka dumbtruck for christmas.

Yeah well. This IS a toy.. feel free to counter my "wrong facts".

You cant face the GF7 and knock it down with your words, the fact is.. its here, its amazingly quiet, draws little power and fast.. and you probably hate those facts.

I got Battlefield2 today, GF7 is out and owning.. and I am going out clubbing tonight with a hot blonde..

Good day :cookie:

+1

I will admit the 7800GTX has me impressed with the cards actually being available and with nice performance increases over the last gen stuff, but your assumptions that the 6800 series dominated ATI's solution is a pipe dream. Read some reviews of the X850XT PE vs. the 6800 Ultra and I think you'll change your mind.

maybe not but the GF6 lineup won the round on the whole.

thru sales, and overall performance.. 6600GT, 6800GT (nice price performance), SLI.. and they had better availability than their counterparts.
so i really dont know what you are trying to say

Read my post and draw your own conclusions. I'm done wasting my time.
And you are right, it IS a waste of your time. The Geforce7 is available and dominates.

Whoa! you seem mighty excited, I bet you work for NV, or else you'd be a pitiful fanboy ;)

This is the bit that has me completely confused. I thought the person in the review comments was lying. In Australia a brand new 7800GTX is the same price as a 6800GT. WTF????
Not that I'm complaining, considering dropping the cash for one very soon at that price.
