Right now i just submitted a rma but iam just wondering what is a good fps for my card. I am rma it because i only get around 30-50fps on high. Mostly 30 and sometimes 60 but i only have my resoulution at 1024*768. I have all nvidia settings all at application controlled with vsynce off. Also whats a good refresh rate to have at. I get a normal 3dmark05 like something around 7000 when oc but like 6500 when not. I dont know if should rma the card or cancel it.

some reason my cpu is 53, 54c at idle. I take off the case door and same thing. Do u think my cpu sensor is going bad and also the gpu is only 60c at load.

your 3dmark score are about right,if a little on the low side, some gts cant crack 7000.bf2 should run sweet at 1600x1200 high settings on your system, mybe you got a software issue, try cleaning out any adware/spyware and virus scan.best drivers for bf2 are the xtremeG 78.05s.and your cpu is cooking,im back on stock heatsink for a few days and i only idle at 34c overclocked, somethings not right.

i had an msi board which read high cpu temps so dont worry about the temps on that,no your cpu wont be much if anything of a bottle neck, did you use drivercleaner after uninstalling old drivers, you could try these drivers which work great for me http://tweaksrus.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=127&Itemid=41 you want the 78.05-hd.driver issue is the only thing i can think of thats slowing you down as you should be flying with your system at that res

With my 7800GT exreme (factory overclocked +50/25), I can get 1280x1024 with Vsync on and all graphical options on, with transparency AA Multisampling, gamma correction AA and AF set at default. I gets good fps.

That sounds about right actually. I ran BF2 at 1024x768 with everything set to high and was getting ~40-50 FPS in large battles. You should set lighting, dynamic shadows, and dynamic lighting to medium, since those three settings really do a number on your FPS. When those are set to medium I actually get about the same FPS at 1600x1200 as I do at 1024x768 with everything on high. I get ~8k in 3DMark05. Note the hardware in my signature so you have a basis for comparison.

For more info, here's a link to the BF2 tweak guide.

also cpu running 54c idle if thats normal and 61c load when play bf2
pretty toast, I'm not sure about Athlon64s, but an AthlonXP would start to fail into the 60s.

CPU isn't a bottleneck.

Wait, YOUR stock heatsink, What do you mean?

bump just sent the card. I never wanted to fully buy a new pc but in the end i pratically built a new pc. Originally i had only bought a 7800gt amd cpu and mb. I have bought a new hd psu case fans and cd drive. All to gether 800. which i only intended to spend 500
