I want to run FEAR and BF2 at 1280x1024. Will the 7800gt run it on highest settings at good framerates or will I need the GTX?

The eVGA 7800 GT CO SE has about the same performance as a stock GTX and it is currently $290 AR at Monarch right now.

CO=Copper Cooler and SE=??? I'm not really sure but they have a regular plain CO so the SE is the one below it but still has the copper cooler, you follow me?

Cool thanks everyone, that factory overclocked evga CO heatsinked one does look like the best price performance! Happy New Year folks!

be careful===get the N516AX and not the N517AX...you will save ~$20 and get the exact same product

same board ID/core and mem clocks/copper cooler, etc.

N516 is supposed to ship with its own bios at 460 core vs. 470, but everyone who has received one lately (myself included) actually got the "CO" and not the "CO SE" :). they're not "CO SE" with the wrong core speed, they are just rebadged N517.

looks like eVGA ran low on N516 and started stuffing N517 in the box instead

I was wondering about that. My 516s both came clocked at the 517's speed, which had me a little confused. Not that there is much of a difference, anyway.
