Hehe. You assume because the 7800 launch was this way that every launch for Nvidia is going to be the same from now to forever. You have too much blind faith in Nvidia. I predict that these cards will be in limited supply since they need to speed-bin to get chips that clock this high. Doesn't matter though really, because not too many people are gonna be willing to pay $600-650 for a video card anyways.

So you don't see nvidia doing what it takes to deliver on their promises since the 7800's launch? You don't see just the opposite of ATI? You call what we feel blind faith. Let me tell you what definition is for you. Blind hatred. Show me a credible link that states for a fact that NV is speed binning these chips.
Any reason to believe its not a respun core? Isn't it called G71? Or am I wrong. Talk about assuming Morph, you just met your assumption quota for the whole month with this post here. Not too many people will pay 600 to 650? Are you insane? Look how well the 7800GTX sold at release 5 months ago. And look how quickly the price dropped due to vast availability and excellent sales. You don't want to hear any of this do you... :::::Laughs::::::

That's nothing but a rumor and I don't buy it.

Are you not buying it because you're a total fanboy? Or do you have evidence to discredit this possibility? Which is it. It can be only one or the other.

I think we already know the answer to that question....That would be the least speculation done in this board over the last 3-4 months....

This card is going to own all this year, about the only choice ATI has is slashing X1800XT prices to current 256MB GTX levels, and they just launched the cards this week.

Tough days for ATI, trying to get back to profitability with a competitor that seems to have a better answer waiting for every move they make.

Good times for the rest of us though, because it's just nice to have the option to buy a card with this much power.

BTW- I seriously doubt the "OCing potential" of this card is relevant, I'm guessing it will run anything at the highest resolution your monitor will support at pretty good detail settings.

It's one thing to say "It's important for my $200 budget card to have some OCing potential" it's another entirely to say "I want my 24 pipe 550/1800MHz super card to have some OCing potential".

You think it's really worth the risk of damaging an expensive work of art like this to get those extra 100 3DMarks? To me, not unless you're far richer than I.

If it could do that ACD 30" resolution in new games, then it would truly be awesome. Though I bet in SLi it may actually be able to drive that high res without AA/AF.

Nine days? When you consider the amount of money at stake, it seems a short time to me.

9 days is a long time when you don't have a video card...😀

I have a watercooled 7800GTX at 520core and 1414mem and I am looking at these new cards and shaking my head. Ah well, I hope I can get one and SLI it with my current card. That would be sweet but I doubt we will be able to mix the memory totals. 🙁

Yay, another card the enthusiasts get to use and I get to drool over. Oh well, at least it will make other cards cheaper.

tru dat to the 560th power...
I was out of Internet for a week and my vital organs essentially died off. 😛

WTF do people do on their PCs when they don't have Internet? Convert hex numbers with Windows calculator and draw stickmen in MSPaint?

Look for leftover porn in their browser cache?

I'm in the same boat. Limping along with horribly outdated tech. I waited for the ATI 1k series, and now I'm finding myself waiting for the nvidia answer. At least now I know it's only a week or two to go.

Then I'll wind up buying something 2-3 steps from the top -- most likely a 7800GT. Let's hear it for competition!

Civ 4 and the HoMM series 😉

Rollo, it's really hard to toast a graphics card unless the person in question has little experience with overclocking. You know that. How often do we hear of people toasting their video cards on these forums compared to the number of people that overclock their cards?

Even so, I do agree that there's no point in overclocking the highest model graphics card, unless benchmarks matter to you.

assumption yes, but its a good assumption to make....theyve set the standard now, and they have to keep it.

M0RPH, Ryszard is an editor at Hexus.net. In all due possibility I believe he has the card at hand right now. He just slipped this information by accident. (or on purpose, who knows.)

It would be amusing if this beast of a 7800GTX with 512MB is going to be cheaper and be more available at launch than the X1800XT.

I have a ACD 30" plus a 7800GTX with a Venice 3000+ @ 2.2GHz, and I can run HL2 at native resolution with 2x AA with very smooth frame rates. AA/AF isn't really necessary at this resolution. Far Cry too works fine, but I don't use AA/AF, as because of the high resolution, it's just not noticable.

600.... that's a lot. A ton more than I was originally planning to pay. I'll wait for the benchmarks, but that does sound like an uber-amazing video card at the very least.

Personal attack? oh keys never does that ... (sarcasm)

Morph makes nothing personal about being a fanboy. He is as public as he can be.
He knows this and I think is actually proud of this. Although I will never know the motive behind it. Looks like the comment stopped hiim dead in his tracks because I see no response to something he cannot answer without losing even more face. He doesn't have much face left if any. So I asked if he had any evidence. Apparently he does not. He got called out, and backed down because thats what happens when you major in FUD.
