I have a strange problem:

I was moving my pair of 7800gt's and PSU from my Asus/Opty system over to my DFI. Before shutting down the DFI I removed the driver, put it into 640x480, low color, 60 Hz mode. I switched over the PSU, restarted the system to be sure there were no problems. Everything was fine. Put a single 7800GT on the DFI and fired it up. It posted fine but as soon as the windows splash screen came up it goes blank and my LCD tells me there is no signal.

I tried moving the display to the second port of the video card
I tried another LCD
I tried switching PCI slots, still nothing.

SO, I replaced the first 7800 card with the second. Same thing; I get the XP splash screen then lose signal.

I tried both my 6800GT and my 8800GTX card -- both work perfectly on the DFI board

The 7800's worked perfctly on my Asus board, in SLI mode or not. Never had a single issue with them.

The system

Win XP Pro, 32 bit
DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI-D
AMD 4200 X2
FSP FX600-GLN PSU
4 sticks, 1 GB Crucial PC4000 RAM (tried it with a pair and a single)
Pair of 250GB Hitachi Deskstars in Raid 0
A couple optical drives and a floppy....
Wireless network card..

I was using the 6800 GT card (512 MB) soft modded to a quadro
I switched over to an 8800 GTX, (now going into my q6600 system)

As I said, both worked, and still do, perfectly...

Any ideas?

Hi and thanks for your response. I did do that... I guess I could try cleaning them with cleanpro or something

Cleanpro did not change a thing. I tried a third, analog, display with a digitial/analog adapter. Still nothing...

It just flashes the windows splash sreen then tells me there is no signal

I even tried restoring the system back before I installed the 8800 card and Ntune.. same exact thing...

Any suggestions?

Why would a pair of perfectly good video cards work fine until the windows splash screen flashes? You just see it flash up and then black.

So... now I have disabled and removed all hardware but the video card and hard drive, and still nothing!

short of a new hard drive and OS I don't know what to do... Any suggestions?
