Probably a n00b question, but I can potentially save 100 bucks.

Is there any real benefit to buying a factory OC'd 7800GTX, such as the BFG or XFX brands for example?

I plan on buying 2 for SLi and was curious if I should spend the extra money for the OC'd versions or if I could achieve the same effect by doing it myself.

thanks,

You can do the same thing yourself, but you will probably void the warranty on the card if you do it yourself. If you buy it factory overclocked, then you won't have to worry about voiding the warranty, unless of course you overclock it even further.
