7770 Black Edition

Looks like a very nice card actually. I was thinking about getting the same exact card but not the black edition but now that I see this and it's nearly the same price, Im just going to go with this because well, why not? lol.

I had an extensive thread about budget graphic cards weeks ago and this 7770 is a very good card. You may not be able to game on extreme settings but you will still be able to on very good settings is what I was told. I'd pick it up because the price is right and Im loving the dual fans for cooling.

- Also, I heard the card overclocks very well. : )

Just my 2 cents. : )

What I want to know also is it says it's PCI 3.0. Does that mean it won't work with 2.0 or not as effectively?

PCI-e 3.0 allows a double in bandwidth compared to 2.0. This can be situationally useful, but for a card like the 7770, even PCI-e 1.0 is hardly ever saturated.

A card that is 3.0 compliant will work fine on 2.0 and 1.0 motherboards.

The 7770 is faster. Has a faster core and memory clock by far. Plus it can be overclocked. Sure, the 6850 can be overclocked but it can't catch the 7770 when the 7770 is overclocked so your right back to square one with the 6850 being behind. That's just my 2 cents. : )

Same as this thread. See my reply. 30-35% overclocking is not guaranteed. 35% is a massive deficit to catch up to a stock HD6870. Unless you play Civilization V all day, HD6870 has this card mopped up.
