775 back plate help

I have a dell dimension 4700, that I want to put into a new case. The motherboard has an odd mounting style.

The holes are directly ABOVE and BLOW the cpu socket. The current moutning system has the screws going directly into the case. I would prefer to reuse the stock cooling system, if possible. If not point in the right direction.

You won't be able to mount it properly in a new case unless you drill the mounting holes in the motherboard tray.

And there is also a caveat if you want to install a new HSF to replace the old one: The mounting holes for the HSF on a Dell mobo may be of a different size and position compared to the DIY boards, so you can't use a aftermarket HSF. I have seen this happen on my friend's Acer and this might happen to you too.

Either way, it doesn't look good...

Better start on the custom backplate looking at the photos the holes are not industry standard.

Whats the underside of the board look like? And what does the mounting on the case look like?

i just built my own using sheet metal. The underside of the board where the CPU sits is wide open. Only trace lines where cut.

What should i use to separate the metal the board? i was thinking double sided tape, that that seems pretty tacky.
