as long as ur not gunna be super overclockin ur cpu (in which case ram speed and dual channel matter) it will be fine

depends. my mobo is the cheap A7N8X-X which doesn't support dual channel. that being said, i originally had to sticks of 256MB then got one for like $5 so i stuck it in for a total of 768MB. it feels fine. i don't do anything heavy so it's fine for me.
