768mb of RAM and Nero burns with 8% buffer only

Nero will only burn with 8% buffer and I have 768mb RAM.
It is set at "system manages page file"

Any suggestions?
 
Which buffer is at 8%, I don?t remember what nero calls them off the top of my head but there is a disk cashing buffer (perhaps called a read buffer) and then the buffer on the cd drive.
 
Make sure that you have the latest stable drivers for your system, in particular the IDE/SATA drivers for optical and hard drives. Make sure the system isn't defragmenting the hard drive in the background (could be scheduled, or automatic like in Diskkeeper's case). Make sure that UltraDMA is enabled if it is an available option. Make sure that no other programs are engaging in heavy disk access at the same time as burning. Make sure your version of Nero is patched to the latest. Make sure you have Windows updates. And you could also set your page file to be a static entity (a gig would be fine).

Make sure that your HDD and your CD-RW or whatever type of burning drive you have are not using the same IDE controller (they arent plugged into the same IDE cable)
