Will the overclock decrease its lifespan, even though it is a factory overclock?

Can I just clock it down to the "stock" settings using the NVIDIA utility? I want longevity, not performance, but a 7600 GT Superclock (eVGA) is the only AGP card I can find at a good price (I would buy vanilla 7600 GT if I could).

Please ignore any performance concerns you have since I know 7600 GT isn't exactly the best AGP card out there (I have a 6800 GT at stock and suits my needs just fine... it's starting to die on me though, so need a new card).

You can reduce it to stock settings using Rivatuner/NTune. If you purchased it through eVGA or one of the qualified retailers, you won't need to worry as you'll be covered by eVGA's lifetime warranty.

the overclock decrease in longevity is not significant enough to be an issue... Also it is marginal decrease unless you increase the voltage... when you increase the voltage (for that last oomph out of an OC) you start to really do some damage.

Register your eVGA card and you increase you warranty from 1 year to 3... If your card breaks in 2 years because of the OC then you LUCKED OUT, because 90% chance they WILL NOT have one in stock anymore (since it would be obsolete long before) and will be forced to give you a free upgrade... Some people have gone through several upgrades with evga (since each replacement card carries that same 3 year warranty!)

Ok guys, sorry if this is a stupid question but:

Isn't the 7600 GT supposed to come with GDDR-3, not GDDR-2? The eVGA 7600 GT Superclock I might be getting has GDDR-2 memory for some reason (says "DDR-2" on the box). That normal?

If it has DDR2 it means that is a 7600GS card. There isn't any 7600 GT that uses DDR2.

Haven't seen anything like it before. Must be some kind of a mistake in those pictures. Only 7600 GS had some variants with 512 DDR2 and 7600 GT has only 256 DDR3 no matter if is AGP or PCI-E. If it has DDR2 then the card is very weak. What are the clocks for ram and gpu?

The 512MB version of the 7600GT apparently uses DDR2 at 800MHz, which is around half the speed of the overclocked 256MB versions. Don't get a 512MB version, since the GPU may not even be powerful enough to take advantage of it.
