7600GS $50 AR/GCO @ Buy.com

I just received this video card from Buy.com. The card is listed as $109.99 with a $25 &
$15 rebate. This would bring it to $69.99 and with Google's instant $20 off it come out at $49.99. It's a fanless card but I don't know much about it. The only down side I see so far is they ask for the original serial number off the box and the only thing I can find is a label on the box flap that's bar graph. The UPC is on the video card and there doesn't seem to be any other numbers on the box. I guess I'll find out if that;s what they are asking for... It is a 7600 GS card as I just installed it..

The barcode on the box flap includes a second segment labeled S/N. I took that to mean Serial Number. It's what I sent.
The current rebate is clearer about the bonus ($15) rebate needing a "copy" of the label.

This card looks just like the EVGA 7600GS I bought from Circuit City for $89 AR. I placed one of those Arctic Cooling bracket fans under it to suck the hot air from the fins and exhaust it out the back of the case. It dropped the card temps 20C Good FPS on the 7600GS.

The price back in August was $149 - $30 CC rebate which came - $30 EVGA rebate which got rejected for "Wrong UPC". I called and bitched and a month later I got a $40 rebate check from EVGA. Go figure, so actually $79 AR.

I'm not video game expert, but the 7600gs is supposed to be faster and cooler than the 6600gt, which itself was faster than the 9800 Pro, especially on an Athlon64 (vs. Nforce2) chipset mobo.

Probably good for the casual gamer and serious htpc'er.

I can confirm that from my kids computer. We had an MSI 6600GT (with the big copper looking heat sink and 11 fin fan) in there first and the 6600GT ran so hot that it melted the fan! The 7600GS is cooler, yields higher FPS than the 6600GT did and the kids say that thier games look better and run smoother.

sin

Doesn't matter, it's PCI-E. Look for AGP cards.....

Why? Maybe his board has both AGP and PCI-e (like my Asrock 775Dual-VSTA does)?

I don't know if it's significant, but it's faster. I don't play many games and the ones that I did play wasn't much different (that I could tell).

mine just came yesterday and hooked it up today.. not bad upgrade.. was using a 6200 turbo cache.. back to dual dvi.. had 6600gt also.. card is definitely faster for 50 bucks.. AR

IN for one too! Starts out $110 - $20 for Google Check Out -$25 XFX/BUY Rebate -$15 Bonus XFX/BUY Rebate. = $50

Yes, this is a great deal. This card would be especially good for a HTPC since its fanless design obviously makes it noiseless.
