7600 GT it is.
I'm getting the EVGA 7600 GT KO. Paying R$ 720 for it here. With today's exchange rate that makes it US$ 313 😱
You gringos have it way too easy over there in the US!

I would want to tell you that in games like FEAR and Quake 4, a 7600gt doesn't perform well.

Do you have any experience to back that up? I've played both of those on my 7600GT at 1024x768 with everything maxed out (no soft shadows) and they both ran smooth as butter and looked as good as you could want. I can even play both at 1280x960 maxed out (no soft shadows) without enough slowdown to be noticeable to my eye and still looks great.

Please think before you post next time. Not everyone feels compelled to have to play a game at 1600x1200 and above to enjoy it.

I've pretty much always played at 1280 or below. The only game in which I feel a need for more screen land is WoW - 1600x1200 or above is so much better in that game.

Neither does any other sub-$200 card @ higher resolutions.... I played both those games with a somwhat slower 6800GT @ 1024x768 with full details & it was ok... right now the 7600GT is available for approx $170 & again, for that money its tough to beat.

the pny one is $149 after rebates at newegg.

i picked up my evga 7600gt ko for less than that in anands very own fs/ft forum.

Great deal there man & all the more reason to go with the 7600GT!

With SLI this game (under graphics limited situation) gets nearly 80% boost. This game was built from ground-up with SLI in mind. As a matter of fact, you don't even need a profile. It's built-in to the game engine.

The problem is, with this game you'll be 1/2 times graphics limited and the other 1/2 times CPU limited. When things are peaceful, SLI will make things smooth very noticeably. But when you have 200+ military units duking it out with all the firearms, smokes, and physics, etc. You basically get same 10+ FPS with 6200 TC or 7900 GTX SLI. I'm speaking from first hand experience.

But in general, with 7600 GT, you'd be able to play the game with all the glory @1024 or @1280. (I'd say you'll see 30~60 FPS under graphics limited situations) But for 1600x1200, you need a better card than a 7600 GT.

FEAR runs fine at 1024*768, maxed , no soft shadows in FEAR, but what about 1024*768 with soft shadows, won't it run like crap?
Quake 4 on 1280*1024, maxed out, not very impressive.

It is not expected from a a mid range card that it can't play a game(FEAR) maxed out(including soft shadows) even at 1024*768.
