<< Thanks very much... I am going to check my drive using there drive test. >>

Believe me, the drive test will tell you that it's healthy. Just create a RMA from their site. If they ask you for an error code, I believe there's an option that says you have not performed the check. Check on the option and say that you cannot access your drive at all.

Their new method of doing things is "14 days" from the time they receive the drive, which isn't exactly making me jump up and down and scream happy thoughts.

14 days? You should be so lucky, when I sent mine back to IBM in the Netherlands it took 7 weeks to get a replacement 🙁

Man you guys are scarin' me....I have that same drive...the 75GXP 46.1

I guess I should be backing this puppy up asap.

It's been a real champ....quiet & fast too 🙂

I also have the 45GB 75GXP. I have had it of over 1 year, but not a problem. I back my "stuff" up quite frequently, just in case.

I think I will try a different brand next time.

I've got one in that size too. I'm backing up stuffs constantly in case it does crap out.

There is a class action lawsuit against IBM for the 75GXP drive series. You might be able to get on board. I signed up in hopes to get some compensation for "risk of data loss".

IBM Class Action Lawsuit

Good luck, and hope you backed it up.

Let us know how the RMA goes.
