Opinions may vary on Bose, but this is a HOT deal, as these speakers NEVER go on sale!

Sorry. This is a referral link from ecoupon.org, not a Crutchfield discount.

They almost never go on sale because Bose will very rarely let retailers put them on sale. Thats why you see deals every once in a while at some retailers where they may give you a free DVD player or something like that with purchase of a bose system but they will pretty much never offer them lower then normal price.

Besides. why go even bother buying a bose system, you can get much better speakers for same price if not cheaper.

wont even want a BOSE for $ 20

if you on budget check out PARADIGM, PSB or ENERGY speakers. Blow away twice as much $$$ bose system

bose = blows. so overhyped... you'll never read a review of them in any reputable audio magazine for one reason: they will usually only publish favorable reviews, and they dont want to possibly lose BOSE as advertising revenue (since they spend ludicrous amounts in advertising on their products). They also know their stuff is crap, thats why you always see the BOSE stuff far away from other speakers. they know we humans have very very poor audio memory

get some Paradigms if you want to step up from Bose for a much cheaper price. they are clean and loud; completely blows my old Bose garbage away (i too was a victim of the hype as a teen). The only favorable thing i have to say about BOSE is that it does hold value well when it comes time to sell 😉

Those Canadian speakers mentioned above are great choices. May I add Kef to the Mix? My $0.02

(... Must.... Not... Bash...

Trying ... hard... not ... to ... Bash... Bose...

Must ... stop... typing... or.... else... may ... just...)

As has been said, nothing from BOSE is worth even 10% of what they sell them for. They are overpriced trash that barely produces what can be considered sound.

Oh, and add Axiom Audio to the list of Canadian speaker companies to check out.

How did I know this was gonna happen? 🙂

I have a pair of Energy's myself, but I do think Bose makes some decent stuff. They're not half as bad as you guys say, as 98% of people who have heard them will agree. Audiophile material? No way. But just fine for most people.

Hey, i'm no expert, but i do listen to lots of audio from diff. sources, and i have to say bose equipment sounds nice to me...

"fine for most people" would be OK if they cost less than your Energy speakers. It's the ridiculous hype and cost that makes us audiophiles grit our teeth. An average or less than average product should not be portrayed as audio nirvana, nor should it carry prices to reflect that.

bose wave radio is the funniest thing, they brag on tv about how it fills the room with sound... my friend won one and it's cheaply designed.. the pop up cd drive feels cheap and the sound is pretty average about the best you could except from 2" drivers.. the thing sells for like $600 but its no different than a $100 nightstand cd player you would buy at walmart

As to not rehash things people have already said (including me), read this thread.

There are a ton of things wrong with Bose, only one of which is their horrible representation of sound. If accurate representation is not your thing, then hey, spend $1200 on speakers worth $80.

Even Consumer Reports, who get criticised a lot, said the speakers were not at all accurate. THey said the floor standing speakers were much better.

I was reading something and they where saying how bose produces good sound, well good for the human ear, but its not accurate. if you want accurate sound go with another brand

Well, since everybody else has crapped on this thread, I guess I will too. As has already been said, Bose speakers are overhyped garbage. You can get much better speakers from Acoustic Research, Klipsch, or Polk Audio for less money.

heave to disagree with you there. The wave radio is a remarkable piuece of equipment, and is by FAR the best in it's class? Is it worth the money? No probably not. But I got it as a gift, and am listening to sports talk radio on it right now 😉 Now I will agree, I have a set of 301 bookshelf speakers, and while they don't sound bad, I don't think they're greatest thing since sliced bread, as the marketing would suggest...

budget? lol

thats right i have noticed bose is never on sale. any idea what hte dealer cost is on their products, specifically the acoustimass am3? i had to resort to ordering these (yes i have sinned) for the rears from a 'high end' shop and theyve been totally screwing me for more than a month on my orders

Bose are the absolute best speakers I had ever listened too

until I started to listen to NHT, B&W, Paradigm and the likes.

I don't know what kind of stuff you guys listen too, but to stress speakers nicely drop a classical music (preferably a full orchestra) in the player. If you listen closely, Bose speakers don't have any distortion, and reproduce the sounds perfectly. With a background in classic music myself, I am very impressed with the Bose offerings.

I imagine Bose probably doesn't sound good to most of you because of the music you listen too.
