I remember also test driving the C320 at another dealership. The guy basically let my friend and I do whatever we wanted. He just sat in the back and didn't say a word. His attitude was "I don't care what you do with or to the car, it makes no difference to me." Audi dealers are a lot better about just giving you the car (yes, just the keys - no salesperson) and letting you do whatever you want with it, one time the guy said to me when he gave me the keys to the S4: "don't take it above 130." I thought he was kidding, but I realized that he was serious (no joke).

Coupon will come a bit later, in a tin case. Last Weekend, dealer told me they have not received sticker for validation, they were nice enough offer to mail it in for me.

You're right, they're made in Alabama (M-class at least)

The M-Class is the only one made in Alabama. All the rest are made in Germany.

I heard that they send the TD GC card to certain demographic areas and based on what you entered when requesting the brochure. If I remember my winning formula, I will post it.

got it and had it stamped...didn't bother to drive it since after getting to the dealership, found out they didn't have any C320s on the lot in stick...only 230s, which has about as much power as my own car...
if you get stick, no AWD...if you're serious about getting the car and are going to spend this much money, look towards Audi, BMW or Subaru

E-mail from the local dealer tells me they are sending me what I assume is just a brochure. But then today I got this e-mail from MB, not the local dealer:
----------------------
Thank you for your recent inquiry.

The following free literature items should reach you in
approximately 7-10 business days:

2003 C-CLASS BROCHURE - UPDATED (2ND RUN)

If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us at
800-367-6372 .

Thank you,
MBUSA Consumer Promotions Department
----------------------

With luck, this will be the tin w/TD GC.

RU Serious?? :p

No GC for me either, I got five e-mails and two phone calls tho'. MB must be hurtin' in my neck of the woods.

Hopefully it shows up later, I'll walk into the dealership:

"Can you guys just sign this? I can't fit into the car."

Different GC but I got my $75 Barnes and Noble GC from them a week ago. Got it a week or so after I sent it in. It's a like a credit card you use in B&N.

You don't seriously consider a sports coupe without taking it up over 100+ and also doing a full speed 60+MPH full slam on the brakes test. It's the latter one that really gets the sales droids panties a bit moist.

I sent my wife to do the expedition TD for the $75 and she did the benz one as well. She hated the ford, but I'm afraid she might want me to buy the benz ;)

I remember once we test drove a volvo turbo wagon (don't ask). The salesman calmly says to me as we're going about 70 - why don't you lock up the brakes to test them out. He was wanting to show us how stable the car was (and it was amazingly stable for a big wagon) so I promptly shoved my foot all the way to the floor. Man that is so fun.

These are all good reasons never to buy a dealer demo car :)

But this benz drive is worth the $75.

I agree, they don't give these cars out for free. If you are buying a sport sedan or coupe you really need to get a good feel for how it drives. The good thing is that the salespeople for those companies that make vehicles that serve needs beyond point A to point B transportation understand this. If they really feel that they can convince you buy the car, they will let you do pretty much anything you want. I took out a nice BMW M-coupe once and the only thing the guy said was to not turn turn-in too fast when we went back into the dealership, otherwise I was powersliding that thing like the world was going to end. I love rear wheel drive!

GRRR, I just test drove this car today for legit reasons, and I didn't get anything!!

I should call the sales rep back!

P.S. Very nice, luxurious, quiet ride!

Never recieved any tin can. Although I did go ahead and test drive this tin can. Definately not up to the usual MB standards. Underpowered, so-so handling, and interior definately wasn't at the least of what I would have expected from MB.
