I have a Delta Skymiles Amex. Will this get me these deals you guys talk about? It is considered as a regular old Amex card at stores.

You'll have to call amex and ask about that one. On their site they show benefits for all cards. If I am not mistaken PM works for all cards...

I make $35000 a year and got rejected over a $400 credit dispute 5 years ago from school. I then got a Capital One Visa Platinum with a $8000 limit the next week. AmEx must use voodoo to determine if you qualify

(BTW- I actually called Capital One to lower my limit down to $3000. I could see getting into serious trouble with a $8000 limit....even if it is only 8.9%)

Speaking of Amex Blue. I got one but never used it aside from that IBM Lappy deal last year (e.g. to get double the warranty).

Anyway, last January Amex sent me those balance transfer convenience checks with a 7.9% APR until paid off deal. I didn't go for it, earlier this month they sent me a similar deal but now it's 5.9% until the balance transferred is paid off.

I think i'll wait longer and see if they go lower :

My mom got one of those deals with her Citi Bank card for 0.9% until paid off. At that rate i could theoretically pay off my car with other credit cards then balance transfer it to Amex with a lower APR LOL!

Just to let everybody know, I have Blue. So I'm not mad at people having it. Just at jerks making AMEX cancel their program sooner as opposed to later or never.

Also remember folks, Blue has a 60-day return policy on all purchases, so if you can't get them to PM, you can return it to them(AMEX) and get your money back.

5-10 minutes labor work, formatting take time though

if u can use a screw driver.. u are all set

all u need to do is to set the jumper

however, make sure your pc is decent enough ( I would say within 3 years so it can support large hd)

Yes, Blue does have a 60 day return period under their Return Protection plan, but this plan is simply an extension of the return policy in effect at the place of purchase for the item that you wish to return. If you return this drive to Blue using Return Protection, they will assess BBs return policy which is a 15% restocking fee. In addition, Blue Return Protection does not refund sales tax, the original S&H if applicable, or the cost to ship the item to Blue. For most people this would be a loss of at least $60 from their original purchase price and you still would not have your drive.

I just went to the BB web site and it lists the warranty on the drive as being only 6 months. Typo? I thought WD had 3 yr warranties?

That would cover all but the tax, which wouldn't be TOO bad. It is a last resort anyway.

Where are you getting this info from? On their site it says:

I have never tried, so I assumed they were portraying the deal honestly. They do not mention a restocking fee anywhere. Can anyone confirm this?

Oh yeah, I misspoke at first. It's a 90-day policy. The BVG is 60 days.

yeah, I thought that was it for a while...the NO CREDIT HISTORY bit...but I have had two different student credit cards for 2 years each w/ Bank of America and Firstar respectively. I kept them for two years apiece until each bank started charging FRIGGIN' annual fees! CRAZY stuff I tell ya!

Well, anyhow, now I'm kinda stuck w/o a credit card by CHOICE (b/c I refuse to pay annual fees)...and God only KNOWS what my credit history looks like!

I just picked one up at lunch, and when I got back to work, I saw that the rebate doesn't say limit one per household. Only "one rebate check per eligible product purchased" which I assume means I can buy more! I'll be picking up a twin tonight for a RAID 1 set. Now I just have to find a buyer for my 2 60GBs that I got for xmas! (Cough....PM me...Cough)

IMHO, $100(After tax, rebate, PM) for 120GB is WELL worth the hassle, if it works. Just in case, I'm not opening it until Amex verifies my PM is OK.

is it true that the price differences has to be $10 or more between the item u bought and the one u are pricematching AMEX? That means if I bought a DVD movie at $15 at BB, and later I found it cost $10 at somewhere else, they won't pricematch it because it's only $5 difference? AM I right?
