I think it is quite strange as I get 4368 on 3dMark 2003. Why could it be?
It has happened to me with Catalyst 3.2 and 3.4. (I haven´t tested it with any other)

My system:

P4@1400
640Mb SD-Ram
40Gb Maxtor@7200RPM
Hercules 9700Pro with Catalyst 3.4
SB live 1024 player
Toshiba 16x DVD
52x24x52 Sony

AGP aperture: 128Mb

It is due to your slow CPU/memory. I only get 7950 in 3dMark2001 with my GeForce4 Ti4400 because of my 1.2ghz Athlon and SDRAM. The reason your 3dMark03 score is higher preportionaly is because it is much more GPU dependant.

Dude, you got 1 of those old P4. They perform worse than regular Athlons.

On top of that you got sdrams with your P4. Very bad combination.

That's why your getting low 3dmark 2001 score.

Thanks for your answers. I was thinking that was the problem. The CPU's performance is ugly.
I'll upgrade it, I just need money ;)

dude, why did you not spend the money from the 9700 to buy a decent CPU/MOBO. talk about a bottleneck

Well, I'm a graphics card lover and I upgraded it as I think it is the most important part of the PC for playing.
Before I had a 420MX and the performance increase has been incredible. In fact I play every game @1024x768 with 4xFSAA and 8xAF. The CPU upgrade will be the next.

Bottlenecks are interesting. You have a slightly faster VPU and a faster CPU, but the ram is crushing you. That said, 9800 is respectable IMO.

You made a good choice. What's the mobo? If it can take a faster CPU and ddr ram you're gtg.

The motherboard only accepts sd-ram, so i think I haven't got any choice but changing all.
