generally from what i've read they are smart enough to look under the seat now🙂 but yes still if you take the plate off and they can't tell if your car is stacked with equip or what model u have they are less likely to bother checking😛 reversing faceplates don't fool any decent theives
 
btw, from the models ive seen at the store, almost anything with a removable face is not extra cheap so it still could have a good resale whataver it is.
