Yes. You can use any 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM ranging from DDR2-400 (PC2 3200) to DDR2-667 (PC2 5300 & PC2 5400) and any higher speeds that may come in the future.

Thanks I'm always uncertain with laptops esp when a site like Dell tells you to use their own parts.

How much of a speed bump is it going for dual sticks? Is it the same ~5% because the cost is about $30 diff for 1gb capacity.


also, Gigaram, A-data, Patroit or Simpletech?

Are you talking about using dual-channel memory? If so, there is 0% difference in performance between single-channel and dual-channel for the Core Duos.
In other words, you will get the exact same performance out of one 1GB stick as you would 2x512mb.

I use Patriot in my Dell laptop. Works great :thumbsup:

Well it was a tough call but

a) this thread happened a month ago
b) limited by the below average ATI X1300 video card, so a Core 2 Duo really wouldn't help with games
