O.K. I know this is probably a no brainer, 2k or 4k refresh rate, but I honestly don't know. Is the 4k TWICE as fast as the 2K? Friend has an HP Pavillion 8140, has 4 slots, 2 occupied= total 32MB RAM. I just want to max out (128MB) his RAM.RAM installs in pairs. So I think he needs 4 pieces of 32MB RAM, right?? 2K or 4K? Thanks, I don't know jack about SIMMS. :)

2K is faster, the number refers to how many individual cells are required to be refreshed. It doesn't take as long to refresh 2000 cells as opposed to 4000, so the 2K memory is speedier.

numark, Thank you so much. Thursday I will get a chance to check out Pricewatch for the 2K. Almost seems a shame to spend money on SIMMS but I can't afford to build this kid a new rig. I really appreciate your input. Maybe with 128 MB and Win 98 he'll have something a little speedier. Thanks again.:)
