700M: possible to upgrade from wireless B to internal wireless G?

hi, if a current 700M has internal wireless B, is it possible to upgrade it to an internal wireless b/g?

i know 700M's exist with wireless b/g, so is it a simple swap? like...buy the component, open up the laptop, plug it in, and install the drivers? or is it like...permanently attached onto the mobo or something?

i've opened up the bottom and it looks like you can easily switch the internal wireless card. i believe it also has instructions in the manual or online somewhere.

probably no different than switching out the hard drive.

Yep, sure can, there were a bunch of Dell mini pci "g" cards on eBay last time I looked, ~$35 shipped IIRC

Been looking at the same thing myself. Took me a good 10 minutes after I got my 700m to figure out I needed to set my router to accept "mixed" wi fi, everything else I have is "g"

I should take you no more than 2 minutes to swap it out with a mini-pci b/g card.

I have been impressed with the Dell 1350 wireless card in my 700m. It gets great signal strength, and detects networks that my Netgear pcmcia card never did.
