ok, i was atempting to install madrake 8.1 on my 2gb hardrive, while leaving win2k on my 13gb.

problem is, when i boot up on the linux boot disk, i can't see whats going on because it seems to be a hihger resoloution than my monitor supports.
my monitor max is 640x480@60hz..

is there some file i can edit so that i can make it run at 640x480@60?

thanks. let me know. i got it figured out. thanks

What isn't it displaying, the mandrake installer? Or linux itself? I boot directly from the CDRom, run the installer from there.

well its not installed yet. but once it boots to the bootdisk, there is the <enter> to install mandrake thing.
then, it goes wavy (out of my res. ) i can vaguely make out that it detecting my scsi adapter and hdd, but it's difficult as hell to read a monitor that isnt getting the right resoloution.

Read the screen before you press enter, it tells you how to install in text mode.
