I don't understand what its like to have an actual drinking problem -- and believe me, I love to drink -- but I know that it can be a real problem for certain people.

I'm sorry that you are one of those people, and good on you for taking control of your life and deciding to deal with it. Congratulations.

Congrats dude. I drink probably more than I should, but it doesn't cause any significant problems in my life besides the occasional hang over. I've thought about quitting before, but I know it would be extremely difficult. Camping, grilling, and working in the garage just wouldn't be the same!

By the way. God has nothing to do with this and neither does grace. YOU have earned this. YOU have worked hard. YOU are the one to be praised. Don't give responsibility and praise to something that doesn't exist, bruh. You are the one we're congratulating, not anyone else, because ultimately it is you and only you who controls your actions.

Congrats again

One of the twelve steps:

recognizing a higher power that can restore sanity

It doesn't have to be God, but there is a higher power which you cannot do this without. Faith is an integral part of AA. Recovery works if you follow the 12 steps and as much as you talk shit faith plays a key roll.

Either way respect to Rude, 7 years isn't an easy road.

One day at a time, each day, every day. Mad props on keeping that dragon in its cage.
