Good bye amazon/nook, hello asus. Asus really stepped up their game with tablets, they seem to be right up there with samsung. Now if only they just made smartphones.

Yeah I saw that and thought the same thing. The thing I like about Asus is they're fast and prompt with updates. Something Samsung needs to really learn. Samsung=no update.

I don't see the appeal of something with such a tiny screen. 10 inch tablet would be a minimum for average productivity for myself. Anything smaller would be too annoying/frustrating to use

Irrelevant and just an observation but it looks like the photo of the tablet is Photoshopped over an apple keynote presentation slide. Maybe its just me. BTW. I want one.

Similar font that's all... hopefully apple hasn't patented it.

7 inch is the perfect size. not too big. not too small.
10 inch /= portable.

7 inch with HDMI is the sweet spot! want a bigger screen? just connect to a 60 inch LCD via HDMI and you are in set.

Unless it has a 1280x800 which I think it does.
I would own my first tablet if this 7" has the 1280x800 screen.

Must decide, Asus's new TF700 10in or this . . . guess it depends on when they actually come to market. And if their bootloaders are open.

The only problem with this is EVERYONE wants it, but there will be 10 in stock across the entire United States.

Anyone tried getting a new Transformer lately? And why bother now with this guy, and 1080p versions being displayed now. ASUS really is doing it wrong, they need to ramp production badly.

I wonder what Apple will be bringing to the plate in a few weeks. Something is telling me to get rid of my iPad 2 NOW...

Pricing. Mini Transformer@249, Transformer1@399, Transformer Prime@499, Transformer Prime+@599. Top to bottom market coverage, something for everyone. Samsung does similar with the Galaxy Tab line, the 7+, the Tab 8.9, and the 10.1. Hope to see some nice refreshes from them too either at CES or MWC.

Would be nice to have a solid idea of when it will come out. If it's in the near future, great; if it's at the end of the year, meh. Their 7" dual-core tablet isn't shipping until Q2, so I can't see them also pushing out the quad-core at the same time and at such a low price unless they're planning on selling the ME171 at an even lower price.

The AcerCloud slideshow looks familiar too:

Even something as simple as browsing websites seems like it'd be a struggle. To me, a 10" in landscape is the perfect size to view full websites without the need to zoom in.

The cloud symbol is a standard image used to represent the 'Internet' in network documents. I can flip open my old CCNA and Network+ books and find hundreds of examples of it. Oh Noes! Cisco, CompTIA, and McGraw Hill copied Apple too.

Stop the Apple copyright drivel and get back to Asus tablet discussion.

There's two 7in Asus models, one with Tegra 3 and one with something else, slightly different model numbers.

I have a 7" tablet now. I find it hard to use for web browsing beyond just a casual text-based page (say, a gamefaqs guide). I plan on stepping up to a TF Prime at the end of next month.
