Any word on the resolution?

I'm looking forward to the day when 1280x800 is standard for 7" tablets and 1920x1200 is standard for 10"

I've already got 1280x800 on my phone (which has a nice sized screen), so a 7" tablet is pretty redundant for me (especially with no resolution advantage). However, Kudos to Asus for making an affordable ICS tablet.

I'd still take the 1920x1200 10" Prime though.

I have a 7" tablet now. I find it hard to use for web browsing beyond just a casual text-based page (say, a gamefaqs guide). I plan on stepping up to a TF Prime at the end of next month.

I'd bet your 7" tablet has the 1024x600 resolution.
The only 7" with 1280x800 resolution right now is the Springboard for T-mobile and I've messed with it.
Loading up a usual standard webpage, I can decipher the text now without zooming in.
With the 1024x600, it was barely legible.

Actually, it's 800x480. I get your point, though. I generally zoom in no matter what, as I have bad eyes.

remember the original netbook launch by asus? $200 target price point ended up like $400, don't believe asus PR talk, $250 without a shipping date is meaningless.

I definitely remember getting the original Eee netbook, and it was somewhere between $200 and $250.

Asus is probably the company I trust most when it comes to Android tablets.

Asus doesn't really have a good track record when it comes to product launches, look at the recent transformer prime fiasco

I paid $349 (~420 with more RAM and a SDHC card) for the first EeePC:

They estimated that it cost Amazon $203 to make each tablet.

Eventually parts and manufacturing costs would go down and and Amazon would make a small profit but Amazon is relying more on contents for profits.
