I guess if they don't want me watching their products, I'll just go read a book or something.

yep, god forbid you pay money to buy their products.

I don't think they are worth it at the prices they are asking. Why would I want to pay money to watch TV shows they have over the air for free? I'd rather go read something.

max2....I'm thinking you are very happy about this newsgroup being sued thing. What's your history of why you want newsgroups gone? You've bumped pretty much every single newgroups thread ever made. Now you've got this.

But he's breaking all the usenet rules.
1. Shhh

"Approximately 75 Torrent and
eDonkey sites have been shut down in the last year as a result of these efforts."

bahahahahahhaahh that's what they think

i actually haven't touched a torrent in a loooong time, save for some linux isos

whoa whoa whoa... there were sites that provided nzb files?!?!

<--- been doing it the old fashioned way

I like all of the statistical bs numbers that someone pulled out of their arse.... billions lost last year and billions more due to piracy

Ditto. Been using Usenet for over 10 years now. System works, why change it.

Its more fun that way plus they can't catch everything but they catch most things.

Of course you will see everything if you use the file search instead of posts everytime when looking for something sense all files come through. At least on newzbin.com

Usenet will probably be killed eventually, but it won't be RIAA or MPAA that does it, it will be people who misuse it to steal stuff or distribute illegal kinds of stuff that will be to blame.

It's been around for nearly 20 years. And it is bigger than ever. So really don't see it disappearing anytime soon.

And for most of that time nobody made much effort to crack down on piracy. Usenet will be fine as long as it remains more or less inaccessible to people who want stuff quick and easy.

And thats exactly how it is now and always will be.

Most people don't want to take the time to learn how to use newsgroups at first. Even if they can use nzb files.

The only way I can see someone using newsgroups without learning is if they used easynews all the time but that would get expensive.

Easynews makes newsgroups the easiest and most simple for the most part. The only thing easynews can't do is make the search titles simple all the time. You still need to know how to sometimes search a certain way to find what you want even on easynews global search.

I wonder what they'll do about the "bay."

They won't do sh1t about it. Last I checked they still couldn't touch them with the way their laws were written over there, but perhaps that's changed.

maybe the isohunt guy needs to relocatwe to sweden or wherever pirate bay is locqated
