haha its an amazign read, and they have an abridged version as well. Take the time, otherwise the points are lost and not retained. With all the worthless things we do, most of us at least if not all, we should find the time to read this.

Being effective doesn't mean anything. Now "Seven habits of highly feared and desired people" I'd read. :D

I read the first one. They don't let things beyond their control affect their mood. Most people are in a crappy mood if it's crappy weather outside. You can't control weather, so don't let it control you.

He's hit upon the most effective habit of all, making others do your work for you. I'd say he's well on his way. :D

Because it's a waste of time if you're not serious about it. One of the things is having a positive attitude, if you think positive, positive thigns happen. How much sense does that make in a one liner? Not much. If you're serious about it, take the time and actually read the book. Curiousity itself isn't enough.

i meant just curious just about what they are in the first place, not about actually changing one's life.

for me the most important concept in the book was dividing you time into 4 quadrants

___________important ___ unimportant
Urgent
Non Urgent

he says, the most effective people spend the MOST time doing important but NON urgent things and the least effective people spend the most time in the important but urgent.

Private Victory:
1. Be Proactive (bomb the building before getting there)

2. Begin with the End in Mind (bring a condom)

3. Put First things First (don't forget it's not how you play the game, it's winning it)

Public Victory:
4. Think Win/Win (we both get ours)

5. Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood (however sometimes you may not be able to lower yourself to their level, try to get close)

6. Synergize (a roofie + wine is faster than either alone)

RENEWAL:
7. Sharpen the Saw (teflon and hollow points)

I think reading books is one of them, but I haven't had time to read it either.

you might want to mention that that's because they finish important things before they become urgent, otherwise your post is just more incentive to slack off... :)

LOL, I thought I never see this outside of McDonalds.
I've went to a bunch of classes for them and the method is taught religiously.
I guess this method is taught elsewhere too.

Right now I'm following one of the habit now.
In an earlier thread, I posted that I am quiting McDonalds.....its the last habit....Sharpen MY Saw.

I actually have a condensed version of it right now but theres no way I can type them all.
And I don't even know how to work the scanner to scan it for you.

Is this for a schooll or work ??

The key is to be proactive.
Its mean you are proactive in taking care of all the important things so none of them will become urgent.
