You guys in the states are nuts. ;) Guns, ammo, liquor all available all over the place :D Here you can't purchase any type of liquor outside of either a government run liquor store or a specialty wine or cold beer and wine store that only sells liquor.

Not every state. I live in Connecticut which is still stuck in the 1700s where alcohol is concerned. Supermarkets can only sell beer and convenience stores can't sell any booze at all. Wine and Liquor can only be sold through a specialty store just like you.

I miss 7-11's. They all closed around here because BP's and Speedway's started doing everything they do at a cheaper price :(

I could go for a Slurpee right now.

Would hate to be an employee at one of those stores me thinks. 7-11 was a shitty enough place to work as it was with the bottom line being almost everything. They wanted gung-ho employees who could make store level product carrying and marketing decisions (deciding what products to carry and which ones to delete, marketing them properly) etc.. plus all your regular cleaning, and sales duties for close to min wage.

I don't know which I prefer to tell you the truth. You can't even get beer in a supermarket here. But like I said things would have been twice as bad working at the 7-11 if we sold any alcohol. We had enough nuts to deal with as it was. I can understand the economic argument in opening the market up but I'm also on the side of the safety and control argument.

Yeah ok. Well here if it contains any alcohol at all you can't sell it outside a government licenced store. Either run directly by the government or a store with a licence to sell alcohol and NOTHING else. This includes all beer and wine. You won't find regular beer or wine in any corner store or grocery store.

Typical liquor stores look something like this:

Similar in concept I think to the state run stores you have only it's stricter because you can't get alcohol outside these types of stores at all in any form beer wine or otherwise.

EDIT: Licenced restaurants serve alcohol like anywhere else of course.

Utah is like this.

Wisconsin rules. I can buy beer, liquor, wine, everything at grocery stores, wal-mart, sams club , etc...

Sams Club even has their own knock off Grey Goose for about half the cost that is REALLY good called RUE 33

Uh, if by 'government run' store you mean stand alone alcohol store, then yes. Here in GA it varies by county if liquor is even sold. Beer and wine is sold all over the state and you can buy that from the grocery store to a gas station. Liquor in most counties requires a separate store specifically for the purpose of selling alcohol.

Oregon's liquor stores are "state run" in the sense that prices are regulated, and you can't buy hard liquor in grocery stores.

At least it is American Beer.

Unless of course this contract company is now foreign owned like Bud.

I won't touch any Anheiser products since the fuckers sold out the company.

Anyone know if City Brewery is American owned?

who cares if they are owned by a different country Anheuser Busch is still made in the USA by Americans!

I bought an Uzi 9mm, 500 rounds of ammo, a 300 round clip and a 40oz at my 7-11 in Texas. That was several years ago.
