This will make them a mST of money.

My company has recently started doing private label beers and spirits. It's the only way to make any money on beer.

People who buy beer at 7-11 are usually buying the cheapest stuff anyway, so I can see it going well if the price is right.

The beer is being made by the 150-year-old City Brewery in La Crosse, Wis., one of the country's largest contract brewers.

Might be interesting to try once or twice but I just think it's going to be equivalent to Milwaukee's Best.

At least it is American Beer.

Unless of course this contract company is now foreign owned like Bud.

I won't touch any Anheiser products since the fuckers sold out the company.

Anyone know if City Brewery is American owned?

I would love to try one, except that the PLCB is keeping this from reaching any 7-Elevens around here. Prices seem pretty good IMO, provided it doesn't taste like ass (which it might).

I dont know about their beer, but I just tried their sodas and they're pretty damn good. Especially the fruit punch, which I havent had since Tahitian Treat stopped production.

Good to have on hand for the occasions when Wal-Mart beer is just too damn classy.

You guys in the states are nuts. ;) Guns, ammo, liquor all available all over the place :D Here you can't purchase any type of liquor outside of either a government run liquor store or a specialty wine or cold beer and wine store that only sells liquor.

Don't you guys have some states that are similar to the laws here? No beer in anything but government run stores?

Uh, if by 'government run' store you mean stand alone alcohol store, then yes. Here in GA it varies by county if liquor is even sold. Beer and wine is sold all over the state and you can buy that from the grocery store to a gas station. Liquor in most counties requires a separate store specifically for the purpose of selling alcohol.

Pennsylvania has state run liquor and wine stores. Beer distributors sell cases, but not six packs. Six/Twelve packs are sold in certain take-out restaurants and bars.

Yeah ok. Well here if it contains any alcohol at all you can't sell it outside a government licenced store. Either run directly by the government or a store with a licence to sell alcohol and NOTHING else. This includes all beer and wine. You won't find regular beer or wine in any corner store or grocery store.

Typical liquor stores look something like this:

Similar in concept I think to the state run stores you have only it's stricter because you can't get alcohol outside these types of stores at all in any form beer wine or otherwise.

EDIT: Licenced restaurants serve alcohol like anywhere else of course.

I miss 7-11's. They all closed around here because BP's and Speedway's started doing everything they do at a cheaper price :(

I could go for a Slurpee right now.
