What? Codemasters' greatest racing game, not to mention, one of the best racing games ever? For only FIVE bucks? And the profits go to charities?

Well damn. You'd be stupid not to buy this. :)

The only way to play multiplayer now on Grid PC is through gameranger because codemasters recently terminated the multiplayer servers for the game.

Grid is awesome. I logged over 30 hours in it according to Steam. Very fun racer.

My favorites were definitely the Drift Races. So much fun.

AWESOME racer. Not too hard, and not too easy either. Is it just me or does the game still look amazing for being...5 years old?

How does this match up to the servers Codemasters had?

Truthfully, it's not that great. Here's all the people online for GRID :

It would work fine if you're organizing a game between friends or users from the forum, but for random pub races, you may as well forget it.

Great game i got a lot of good hours of gameplay from.

MP is mostly dead these days, but there's a lot of single player that's well worth it.

Tunngle also offer MP support for GRID. It's more populated than GameRanger but not as good as Codemasters servers were.

I already own it on physical media so I'll wait until it's $2 or so just to have it on Steam.

And where's my Grid 2?

Codemasters are retarded, or they don't want mah money.

I'm also anxiously awaiting Grid 2. Hopefully it will be good enough to make up for the disappointment called Shift 2.

From what I hear, GRID 2 will be released sometime in 2012. I can't find an exact source right now but it's all over the Codies forums. Also, if you search "Grid 2 release date" on Google you'll find 2012 as well.

It's nowhere near 5 years old. It was released June 2008, so it just turned 3. Sorry. Had to point that out. :)
Just 3? feels like it's been around forever. Looks pretty good for a 3 year old game, it also runs superbly on old-ish hardware, I remember running it at the highest settings on my 4850...can't say the same for Shift.

I have not looked at other racing games.. after NFS:MW. CM is the only studio I will purchase racing games(unless they mess it up badly.. like FUEL).

360 controller. Works great, not just for this game, but for a lot of other games as well.

Good to know. I wanted to know if this game was a good controller game or more of a wheel game, but it sounds more arcadey than realistic which is good for me.

This game loves GPU -- only other time I've heard the MSI fans spinning that hard was for JC2.
