Not sure of the quality of the discs, but $7 for a spindle before shipping isnt too bad.

Anyone know what dye and factory these are made? I would get outpost.com cheapies, but CMC Magentics, what their Kingston CD-R is made, isn't a great brand.

Well, I have two spindles of these Fuji's that I have bought over the past two weeks, and they are the 16X-rated. They are definitely TY's, at least that's what my Plextors are telling me, and they ought to know. ;) (Note: At both OfficeMax and CC where I bought these, they had the same exact spindles but only rated at up to 12X, naturally I took the 16X's, but the 12X's are "Made in Japan" also, so they oughta be OK, I just figured the 16X's would be a bit better grading in order to meet the higher speed rating).

Now we just need a hot deal on empty jewel cases - good quality ones, no slim lines either ...

buy lots of platinum, melt it until a huge pot, jump into the pot and there you go, a platinum member is born.

i just bought to spindles of the outpost $13 ones. i dont know how good they are, when trying to burn an image file, i coastered twice, and had to stop to get some studying done. im going to try and copy some cds with them to see if it was just a fluke.

these kingstons SUCK!!!!

i have made 3 coasters, twice burning from an image file, and the third time copying a cd. i ripped it to the HD first, then started to burn using DiscJuggler. i recieved a buffer underrun or write error. i KNOW its the write error because my buffer was at 100%

im about to write outpost.com and try and get my money back.

Maybe your drive sucks, which one do you have? I've had zero problems with the Kingstons from outpost.

i've gone thru about 30 of outpost's kingston hypermedia 80mins and everyone of them burned flawlessly. readable in everything i tried (except an old 4X reader)
i went back (thanks to 'the learning center') and ordered another 50 pack.

My friend goes through the 12x kingstons like mad and loves them...Plextor 8432

I too have had great luck with the Kingstons. I also love the pearl-white labels. I've gone through at least 200-250 of them, and I've had maybe 1 or 2 coasters with a Sony 12/8/32.

I love the Kingston Hypermedia cheapies... I've gone thru half a spindle and no coasters yet and haven't been unable to read them in any players and computers I've tried them in... they're inexpensive as heck too and at $10 with overnight shipping you kind of can't lose, it's 10 cents literally a cd-r disc there... would you rather pay that and get 1 coaster per 50 or pay $20 and get 0 coasters per 50? I thought so :). I've tried them with an iomega 8x4 burner and a TDK velocd 12x10 (which is now in my system), and haven't had any problems with them... don't be scared by what die type it is or anything, see if they work for you well and if they do you can save a ton of $$$ :) I love the color of their bottoms too lol, they're my fav. (blue).

I'll throw in another good vouch for the Kingston cheapies.. I've gone through a good 8 1/2 spindles and I can say in all honesty, I've never had a coaster that wasn't my fault.
