6970 X fire. Worth it?

I'm considering going to a 3 monitor setup and i need something that'll run BC2 and not have any issues. I'm only thinking about ATI because recent tests have shown the 570 and 580 have memory issues at that resolution with surround. So i have to ask... 6970 X fire worth it?

I am running a 6970 crossfire with just one monitor (2560x1600 though), and so far I think it is worth it. Even with the hotfix drivers, I have not yet had a single issue with mine, and good temps with just a standard crossfire connector.

My vote would be to save $140 and get a pair of 6950s. There is a good chance you can unlock them to full 6970s.

This.

I picked up 2 XFX 6950's and both unlocked no issues. OC'ed them a little with 0 issues. One warning would be to check your PCIE spacing. I swapped from a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R to an MSI Big Bang due to increased spacing between 16x slots. On the Gigabyte board there was 0 space in between the cards and things got HOT. As it is I still have water cooling coming for these cards because under load I am running in the 90°C range and while that is considered "safe" the fans spin to an unbearable speed!

Didn't you say you were going for the GTX 560s? What changed your mind?

Also 6950x2 is best bang for the buck. You have a 96% chance to unlock them lol.
