Here's the important part of that article:

As a matter of fact, naming the highway?s extension I-69 is a violation of the Interstate Highway System?s rules for numbering roads. Interstates numbers are to increase from west to east. If the extension through southern Indiana is named I-69, then 69 will be west of I-65, a direct violation.

What a dork.

Good thing he isn't a congressman in Michigan. He would be all over I-75's exit 69 - Big Beaver Road.

Yeah, it sounds like it almost has to be changed.

Exactly. Just for the sake of convention they should change the name. The fact that it's name is I-69 is irrelevant.

Not when, as posted, it contravenes the naming system.
Why TH was it going to be named 69 if it contravenes the rules?

It sounds like the highway SHOULD be I-63. However, it also sounds like the reason that this guy wants it to be called I-63 has nothing to do with highway naming conventions.

So, why didn't they bring this up earlier? That's right, because "religous groups" don't give a sh!t about whether the interstates are in the proper order or not, they just don't want something "immoral" polluting the minds of the population.

Congressmen were extremely horny back when it was named?

As a Moral Mathematician? I'm starting a campaign to remove this number from the Natural Numbers. There is nothing "natural" about it, and it makes a mockery of all mathematics. After my campaign to purge it is successful I will move on to other "undesirables" like 420, 1337 and pi.

Make no mistake about it, your days of hedonistic math are numbered.

This overrides everything else.
